Jujur, gw baru tau bandMumford & Sonsini sejak bulan Januari kemarin. Gara2nya album mereka (Sigh No More) masuk peringkat kedua sebagai album terlaris dan terbaik di tahun 2010 versi situslast.fm.

Rasa penasaran ingin mencoba, membuat gw terjatuh dan tenggelam di dalam musik mereka. Benar2 sebuah musik yg baru pertama kali gw dengar dengan model dan warna musik seperti itu.Folk country dengan gaya bluegrass dipadu secara apik dengan sentuhan ala band2 Indie Rock.

Yeah, Mumford & Sons adalah band folk asalLondon Inggrisyang mengejutkan publik Inggris dengan musik folk bluegrass-nya dan langsung menembus pasar Amerika yang dimana adalah negara asal musik country. Berawal dari perolehan predikat sebagai "Band of The Day" versi The Guardian yg sungguh mengejutkan kritikus musik, dan menjadi salah satu band folk asal Inggris yg patut diperhitungkan didalam scene musik folk.

Debut EP (Extended Play) mereka yaituLend Me Your Eyesyg berisikan 4 tracks termasuk single andalan mereka yaitu "Roll Away Your Stone". Chess Club kemudian merilis EP kedua mereka yang diberi judulLove Your GrounddanThe Cave and The Open Seasebagai EP ketiga mereka.

Album debut mereka yaituSigh No Moredirilis oleh Gentlemen of The Road/Island Records pada tanggal 5 Oktober 2009 dengan single andalan yaituLittle Lion Man.

Beberapa bulan Little Lion Man dirilis, single itu menjadi top chart di Australian Youth Radio. Dan juga masuk didalam 100 lagu terbaik tahun 2009 versi Studio Triple J. Pada musim panas 2010, secara mengejutkan single "Little Lion Man" menjadi peringkat #1 di Billboard Alternative Songs dan peringkat #61 di Billboard Hot 100 di Amerika.

Lalu, Mumford & Sons menjadi peringkat pertama diVH1sebagai "You Oughta Know" artist of 2010. Dan kemarin yang paling mengejutkan adalah mereka masuk nominasiGrammy Award 2011dengan nominasi yaitu :

Sebelumnya juga gw dikejutkan oleh mereka melalui proyek musik mereka bersama artis folkLaura Marlingsecara tiba tiba berkolaborasi dengan musisi India sewaktu kunjungan mereka ke India, dan hasilnya adalah Dharohar Project yang menjadi EP mereka.Folk, Country dan dipadu dengan musik tradisional India... wew susah dibayangkan sebelumnya, tetapi hasilnya adalah sebuah masterpiece.

hmm gw bru dengerin Sigh No More, Winter Winds, ama Roll Away Your Stone sih om. Waktu itu emang blm kelar donlot satu album. Cuma bs donlot satu2 lagunya hehe..

Yeah, maka dari itu sungguh mengejutkan. Mereka membawa folk country dengan elemen bluegrass yang kental (dan ini adalah musik asal amerika) dan paduannya dengan musik2 indie rock pada umumnya. Hal ini yang buat musik mereka gak umum
