Komedian Jim Carrey beberapa tahun belakangan ini terbilang karirnya cukup terpuruk.

Film-filmnya tak sesukses dulu lagi, termasuk film terakhirnya tahun lalu Mr. PopperÂ’s Penguins yang juga gagal di box office.

Tetapi sepertinya Carrey sedang mencoba untuk bangkit menata lagi kejayaannya di perfilman Hollywood. Setelah dikabarkan akan membintangi sekuel Dumb and Dumber, Carrey kini juga dikabarkan siap membintangi film sekuel lainnya yakni Kick-Ass 2.

Seperti yang dirilis oleh Deadline, Universal Pictures baru saja mengatakan bahwa mereka menginginkan Jim Carrey untuk bergabung dalam Kick-Ass 2 ini.

Carrey ditawari peran sebagai Colonel Stars, salah satu Pendiri dari “Justice Forever” yang bertugas untuk merekrut para pahlawan untuk kelompok yang memerangi kejahatan.

Jim Carrey ditawari sendiri memang pernah mengakui bahwa ia menyukai film pertamanya yang disutradarai oleh Matthew Vaughn.

Jika Carrey resmi menandatangani kontraknya, maka Ia akan bergabung bersama Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloe Moretz, dan Nicolas Cage yang merupakan para bintang utama di film pertamanya.

Kick Ass 2 oleh Jeff Wadlow (Never Back Down) dan direncanakan akan tayang di bioskop pada tanggal 28 Juni 2013.
